HOLLOW TINE AERATION
Aeration in essence is the replacement of “soil” air with “atmospheric” air.
By making holes in the soil we allow for the 'poorer' soil air to escape and the 'better' fresh air to replace it.
The space that the aeration activity leaves behind is known as the pore space and will have massive benefits to the grass plant.
Hollow tine aeration allows cores to be removed from the lawn, so removing soil and sub-surface thatch from the area.
Aeration will allow for the following:
Compaction relief
Improved surface conditions
Better penetration of water, air and nutrients to the rootzone
Improve soil structure
Improve rooting capacity
Release gases from the soil
Increased shoot growth
